Vehicles weighing less than 3.5 tonnes do not require a Poland vignette. However, if you own such a vehicle, you will be required to pay a motorway toll on certain road segments in Poland.
These toll road segments are found on the A1, A2 and A4 motorways in Poland. Therefore, when using these motorways, you will be liable to pay the appropriate Poland highway toll.

Payment of these motorway tolls in Poland is made at specially designated toll booths along the motorways. These toll points are strategically located along the highway route and offer facilities to pay the appropriate toll.

How do I pay Poland vignette?
To pay the Poland toll roads, there are two systems implemented by the Polish authorities: the closed system and the open system.
The closed systems:
- Upon entering the motorway, you will receive a ticket.
- When exiting the road segment, you will have to pay according to the vehicle category and the distance traveled. This is where the toll booth is located.

Open system:
- There is only one toll station at the beginning of the highway segment where you have to pay the toll in advance.

Fine for Poland vignette
You will be obliged to pay a fine if you have not paid the toll road Poland corresponding to your vehicle. The Polish authorities will issue a fine in this regard.

Vehicles with a maximum authorized mass of more than 3.5 tons are subject to the payment of a Poland vignette in the form of road taxes with a wider coverage than in the case of vehicles with a maximum authorized mass of less than 3.5 tons.

Other options to pay Poland vignette
As an alternative to the eTOLL tolling system through the on-board unit, there are two other options available to carriers:
- There is also the option of using a free mobile app, available for both Android and iOS devices, to connect to the e-TOLL system and pay e Toll Poland. However, it is important to note some disadvantages associated with this solution. Using the app involves maintaining a constant connection to the e-TOLL Poland system, which can lead to high battery and mobile data consumption. Also, if the signal is interrupted, there is a risk that drivers will receive fines from the Polish tax authority for not paying the Poland tols.
- Another available option is to connect vehicles to the e-TOLL system through an external tracking device (ELS) installed in them. To use this solution, you need to purchase and install a tracking device from a specialized third-party company, which usually charges a subscription fee for their services.
